1998–2007

More capacity and shorter waiting times: the second Fimbabahn

Shorter ride with only 12.3 minutes

To reduce the long waiting times at the cable cars, 1998 saw extensive reconstruction works. The first section of Silvrettabahn cable car, which was built in 1983, was dismounted and installed as the first section of the new Fimbabahn cable car. As the new cable car offered space for up to six persons per cabin and only took 12.3 minutes to get to the top, the capacity went up to 2,400 passengers per hour. This version of Fimbabahn cable car was in operation until 2007, when the new Fimbabahn A3 was built
